Description

The official currency of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands). The symbol ƒ comes from the old guilder symbol.

History

Introduced in 1940, replacing the Dutch guilder. Pegged to the US dollar since 1971 at a fixed rate of 1.79 ANG = 1 USD.
