Description

The official currency of the Czech Republic. The symbol "Kč" stands for "koruna česká" (Czech crown). Retained the name from the former Czechoslovak koruna after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

History

The Czech koruna was introduced in 1993 after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, replacing the Czechoslovak koruna. The Czech Republic plans to adopt the euro but no date is set.
