Description

The official currency of Cuba. Uses the $ symbol but is denoted as CUP$ or CUP to distinguish it. After the 2021 reform became the country's only currency.

History

Introduced in 1857. Until 2021 there was a dual currency system with the convertible peso (CUC). After the reform, CUP became the only national currency.
