Description

The official currency of Brunei. Uses the $ symbol but is denoted as B$ or BND to distinguish it. Has a currency union with the Singapore dollar at par 1:1.

History

Introduced in 1967, replacing the Malaya and British Borneo dollar. Since 1967 has currency interchangeability with the Singapore dollar at 1:1 rate.
