Description

The official currency of Armenia. The symbol ֏ was adopted in 1999 and represents the capital letter Դ (da) of the Armenian alphabet with two horizontal strokes.

History

The dram was introduced in 1993 after the dissolution of the USSR, replacing the Soviet ruble. The symbol ֏ was designed in 1995 and officially approved in 1999.
